Prom Promise!

As prom approaches every year safety is a major concern for parents.  We have all heard horror stories of students and their dates who have been in wrecks on prom night.  I especially feel close to this issue having experienced this in high school myself.  Please read articles I have posted below.  After reading, I hope students and parents both agree that signing a Prom Promise is a wise decision.  Will you have your child sign a Prom Promise this year?  Let me know.

The 2011 Sylvania Lady Rams Softball team is ready for their first game.  Billy Edmonds and Gina King are the coaches this year.  The first games are listed below.  Updates will be made as necessary.

Make Up Days!

The following days will be used as make up days for the Dekalb County School System. 

• Use February 21, March 11 and 14- three days
• Use May 26- one day

Ram Cram for Alabama High School Exit Exams

If your child has not passed a part of the Exit Exam, he or she is now going thru Ram Cram.  Teachers are offering specialized help in their area of study.  For example. if your child has not passed the Language part, Mrs. Finch is helping him or her for the next two weeks to hopefully brush up on their skills before the test.  This has helped a lot of students in the past.  Hopefully, this will be another successful Ram Cram.

Junior Extravaganza!

It is that time again for Juniors at Sylvania High School to showcase their talent!  This is one way the Juniors raise money to help cover prom costs. 

This years show will be on February 25th and 26th.  Each night beginning at 6:00 pm. Admission is $4. A concession stand will be available serving hotdogs, drinks, and all sorts of sweets.  The lineup for the show consists of comedic skits, singing, and dancing.  Many doorprizes will also be given away!

So everyone come out and support the Class of 2012.  I promise you will have an evening full of laughs and entertainment!

Junior-Senior Prom 2011

The Junior-Senior prom will be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Fairy Land Country Club. Renedevous in Paris is the theme for this years prom. The theme colors are purple and black.  I hope all the students will enjoy it! March 26 from 7-12 pm.
